current events

In the article "Police move in on latest Occupy Oakland protest" it talks about how the police confront a diverse group of Occupy Oakland protesters. The occupy people had taken over a vacant lot which was private property.
police appeared ready to move in on the group. About 30 police officers were at the scene, most of them in riot gear. About 20 people set up tents on the lot late Monday night, and Tuesday afternoon the camp was bustling with people. Food and water were available for anyone who asked.
Police gave the protesters a 30-minute warning about 8:30 p.m. to leave the camp or be arrested. But at 9:50 p.m., police surprised protesters and observers alike when several of them removed their riot gear and all the officers promptly drove away. The way I feel about this is that I feel like both the police and occupy could have token a better route to handle this situation. The occupy say they had permission to stay in the lot which they really didn’t and if they didn't they should of have not been there in the first place. For the police they should always handle these situations in a different manner, police always resort to violence. Police should know by now violence never solves anything it just makes a lot people mad.

My inspiration

There are many things that inspire me, but there are few that inspire me the most. What inspires me the most are the projects where I live; reason for that being is because it makes me want to work as hard as I can so I can be able to get me and my family out of the projects for a better life. Even though I have lived there for most of my life which is about 15 years now I would never forget where I came from, so then I would hope to one day when I do become successful I would want to do something to give back to the community. The projects is where I mainly grew I have seen my neighbors come and go and I always wondered where they were going to live, probably in a better environment and a better house. And I always thought when will it be me. As far as living in the projects now there is nothing wrong with living with housing. I am at that point in my life where I want to get a better sense of other communities that I can explore. Possibly even living somewhere that is out the city, a new type of environment where I can be comfortable. I always wanted to live somewhere where I can have a swimming pool in my backyard and a big back yard in general. That is why living in the projects makes me strive to succeed so I can have myself and my family live better for the future.
